The heart is your center. It’s as central to your soul as your nose is to your face. Yet even though ‘it’s as plain as the nose on your face’ this most obvious thing is often the easiest to ignore. —Peter Kreeft

We can build greater resilience by examining our core, working our way up the tree and through the branches. We must take a long, loving, honest look at ourselves and our own circumstances. There are certain characteristics we can change and temperaments that remain unchangeable, no matter how hard we try to change them. Likewise, there are characteristics in our lives that we can influence, and there are others that are largely out of out control. We need to sort out these different aspects to build resilience, adapt and survive, and trust that we will be able to meet whatever we face and weather the very real storms that we encounter.
